guys, let's post our mahjong questions here....let aosh our mahjong consultant answer our questions...

1) other than 13 orphan which mahjong variation does not allow to use fei (joker)?

2) for All terminal variation it is necessary to have both 1s & 9s or just either of it (eg. just 1s) ?

Ok.. good question for first one

1) there are some variation that you unable to win or get false win when using joker.
for example, to get seven pairs, you are not allow to have two tiles of joker act as a pair where other 12 already become pairs
another example is nine heaven gates, if ur hand got joker.. it is not consider nine heaven gates, just a normal win. Means no nine heaven gates win points extra.

2) there will be both to win terminal variation. Impossible to have only 1s or 9s, as the most u get 9 tiles for either 1s or 9s where u need other 5 tiles (1 pong and a pair) to win.
